Why do I love bromances so much? Platonic soulmates? Maybe because there is something so pure in having a friendship that strong. Because it makes me squeal aloud when they communicate with only a glance, a touch. When they have a language all their own, when they are able to be vulnerable with each other. A friendship that surpasses all hardships, that stays strong through all trials. Friends that know each other intimately, know each other's weaknesses, have seen the other at their lowest. And are still there. The one person who can talk back to the most powerful person in the room, the one who can drag them back from the pits of hell. The person that shares the others vibes and matches their energy, the person who compliments their craziness. I love platonic soulmates because they are pure. Because it is strong. Because the thought that there is one person out there in the world who will always stand by you, though it’s not romantic.

I just gotta say to those watching The Pitt and shipping Shawn Hatosy’s character with Noah Wyle’s, you really need to check out his three episodes of the show Numb3rs, if you haven’t already done so.

I haven’t seen any of The Pitt beyond gifsets on tumblr, so I can’t really comment on that show or ship, but if his character in Numb3rs, Dwayne Carter, was only supposed to feel ‘brotherly’ love for the character of Colby Granger, his old Army buddy, then someone really should have made sure he (and the writers) got that memo. Because I don’t know what the hell they were trying to tell us with that relationship if it wasn’t that Dwayne was head over heels in love with Colby.

Been a fan of Death in Paradise for a while, but only really just beginning to dip my toe into the fandom. Was wondering what the general opinion was on the books?

My opinion, they are a good addition to the series, and nice to see a little more of the original team, but some of the characterizations seem a little off. The murders are first-rate, and it seems odd to be saying this as they're all written by Robert Thorogood who created the TV series, but it seems like there's a lot more tension between the team in the books that in the show.

Take Richard and Camille, in the show, while they often disagree, it always made plain that underneath it all they like, perhaps more than like, each other. But in the books, reading Richard's internal monologue, it often seems like, though he respects her as a detective and colleague, Richard actively dislikes Camille as a person. I guess so much of what we perceive as their relationship comes from the chemistry between the actors, which is of course lost in the written word.

For all, that the books to include my favourite exchange in the entire series, in which Richard asks the team how they'd go about killing him, and slowly becomes more and more horrified by Dwayne's detailed response.

Anyway, enough of my rambling, what do you folks think?
